Lakmé celebrates Chokkhu Daan in a unique style this Durga Puja

The brand recognized five women role models for their exemplary work while doing the Chokkhu Daan with Lakmé Eyeconic Kajal

On the auspicious occasion of Chokku Daan this Durga Puja, Lakmé partnered with Karukrit Advertising and Ahirtoloa Sarbojanin Durgatsab where the Chief Guest, Prosenjit Chatterjee, a leading actor & producer and the Lakmé brand team, bestowed awards to five female visionaries for their exemplary work in their respective fields.

Durga Puja is all about vibrant colors, togetherness, mouth-watering delicacies and celebrating the victory of good over evil. Mahalaya being the day when the auspicious Chokkhu Daan ceremony of Maa Durga happens, where the final touches of drawing the eyes of the idol is completed. In this first of its kind Chokkhu Daanceremony, Lakmé Eyeconic Kajal was used to draw and highlight Maa Durga’s eyes.

The word Chokkhu Daan literally means – giving eyes or vision which can be translated into guiding someone towards the right path. Lakmé acknowledged five women leaders who through their way of life, through their beliefs and dedication & perseverance have had an inspiring journey which has enriched many: Urmimala Basu, noted theatre personality, Mamata Shankar, well-known actress, Bratati Bandyopadhyay, prominent Bengali elocutionist, Jayati Chakraborty, established Kolkata- based singer and Subhasree Ganguly, leading contemporary actress.
